Indeed, for more than 39 years, Imperial has scoured the globe for reputable factories in countries with the most experienced artisans for the best in fine area rugs. Today, selling directly to the public, Imperial’s showroom offerings are enormous - with new designs in the latest weaves, textures, colours and patterns. If your tastes lean toward the contemporary, you might be looking at the Matisse Collection with simple modern patterns in muted aquas, rich browns and neutral wheat shades. Or be captivated by designs with geometric patterns and pop-art shades of red, green and yellow, or the classic pairing of black & white in angled grids or flowing paisley.

Those with a penchant for the more exotic might venture into collections with fine hand-knotted wool rugs from India and Pakistan in paprika, mustard and copper shades. The art lover will have an appreciation for painterly scenes depicted in Imperial’s Renaissance Collection.  Even those with an infinity for nature will be drawn to organic designs-from branches to leaves-in monochromatic palettes of tan and chocolate brown.

 “When you walk into our store, you’ll feel like you’re visiting a large art gallery,” says Kozoronis. Carpets in every size are featured categorically in collections that hang from sliding rafters to make it easy for customers to review their favourite choices. Like evolving galleries, new arrivals come monthly.

Beyond the extensive variety of colours and patterns, it is the wholesale pricing and raw materials such as yarns and dyes, that make Imperial the standout choice for carpet purchases.
